In Dallas when I was out at the bars with friends, we thought it would be a good idea to sign up for a 5k that was the next morning because at the end there is a free Margarita waiting for you at the finish line. This was my level of competitive racing.

In May I completed a Half Iron Man in Marbella, Spain which hosted the European Club Championships. They had some amazing athletes from around the world. A Half Ironman, also known as a 70.3 triathlon, is an awe-inspiring test of endurance, combining a 1.2-mile swim, a 56-mile bike ride, and a 13.1-mile run.

I used just one book to prepare myself for the race. It is “80/20 Triathlon: Discover the Breakthrough Elite-Training Formula for Ultimate Fitness and Performance at All Levels” by Matt Fitzgerald and David Warden.
